What it is
Palais Nouhass is a palace-style hotel, not a private villa. It offers seven categories of accommodation — double rooms, modern rooms, twin rooms, traditional rooms, and junior, senior and royal suites — so a party can be housed at different levels under one roof.
The interiors
Long salons run under carved and painted ceilings, with seating arranged in groups rather than rows and full-height windows onto the garden. The volumes are the point: these are rooms built to hold a hundred people without feeling crowded.
Outside
A large pool sits in front of the main façade and is lit in the evening. The grounds and the driveway are laid out for arrivals, which is why the property is used for weddings.
Service
There is a restaurant, a spa and a beauty parlour on site, and an events team. For a wedding or a family gathering, the property is normally taken whole.

The area
Palmeraie Nord is the far side of the palm grove, at Dar Tounssi. It is quieter and greener than the grove’s southern edge, and further from the medina — a drive of roughly twenty-five to thirty minutes depending on the road.
What the photos won't tell you
Every listing in the world photographs the pool from its best corner, and no photograph answers the questions that decide a stay. So before you commit, we put the following in writing for your dates:
- How far the car gets, and how many metres and steps remain with the luggage.
- Who the neighbours are, and what you will hear at five in the morning.
- Whether the pool is heated, and in which months that decides whether you swim.
- What “staffed” covers — who is there, at what hours, and who cooks.
- Where the wifi actually reaches, not just where the router is.
- Which of the property’s own photographs were taken with a wide-angle lens, and what a room looks like from the doorway.
Common questions
Is this a villa?
No. Palais Nouhass is a palace hotel with seven categories of room and suite, a restaurant and a spa. If you want a house to yourselves, Maison Amâra is the closer fit.
Can it be taken for a wedding?
Yes — the property hosts weddings and celebrations, and the grounds are laid out for them. Whole-property dates need early notice.
How far is the medina?
Palmeraie Nord is the far side of the grove, so roughly twenty-five to thirty minutes by car.
