Nineteen restaurants, grouped by where they are rather than by a ranking, because in Marrakech the area decides the evening more than the kitchen does.
Two facts decide most bookings here, and neither appears on a review site.
The alcohol licence. Inside the medina, licences are uncommon. A beautiful riad restaurant may be completely dry, and finding that out at the table is a bad surprise. Every entry below says what the restaurant’s own site says — and where the site does not say, this page says so rather than guessing.
The last two hundred metres. A car cannot reach most medina doors. You will walk through unlit lanes that look identical at night. Ask where the car stops when you book, and ask whether someone can meet you. Most places will, and many offer before you ask.
How this list was built
Every restaurant here was found and then checked by opening its own website and reading it. Addresses, hours, booking channels and whether alcohol is served are taken from those pages, word for word. Nothing was copied from TripAdvisor or any review site: where a TripAdvisor page exists we link to it so you can read the reviews at the source, which is where they belong.
There are no rankings and no scores on this page. A number out of five tells you less than knowing that a place is dinner-only, closed on Wednesdays, and twelve minutes’ walk from where the taxi can stop.
Hours change. They change during Ramadan in particular, and Marrakech restaurants rarely update their websites when they do. Where a site publishes hours we have quoted them exactly; treat them as a starting point and confirm when you book.

Booking any of them
Use WhatsApp or the phone. Marrakech restaurants answer both within minutes and frequently ignore email and web forms entirely. Book for dinner, especially in the medina where a room holds thirty covers rather than a hundred, and confirm on the day for a table of more than six.
If you would rather not do it yourself, we book restaurants for guests staying with us, including the ones that only answer a phone in French, and we arrange the car both ways so nobody is looking for a taxi at midnight in a lane.
Common questions
Which Marrakech restaurants serve alcohol?
Mostly those in Gueliz, the Hivernage and hotels. Inside the medina licences are uncommon, so assume a riad restaurant is dry unless its own site says otherwise. Each entry on this page states what the restaurant publishes.
Do I need to book a restaurant in Marrakech?
For dinner, yes, particularly in the medina where rooms are small. WhatsApp and phone get answered within minutes; email and web forms often do not.
Can a taxi drop me at the restaurant door in the medina?
Usually not. The car stops at the nearest vehicle point and you walk the rest through lanes that are dim and unsigned at night. Ask where that point is when you book, and whether someone can meet you.
Are these rankings or reviews?
Neither. There are no scores on this page. Each restaurant was checked against its own website for address, hours, booking and licence, and where a TripAdvisor page exists we link to it so you can read the reviews at the source.
How current are the opening hours?
They are quoted exactly as each restaurant publishes them, but Marrakech restaurants rarely update their sites, and hours shift during Ramadan. Treat them as a starting point and confirm when you book.
